Survivor: Island of the Idols: Season 39 – Meet the Castaways

Survivors ready?! One more week until Survivor: Island of the Idols begins and I am so excited to see what this season of Survivor has in store. The castaways will be on two tribes and each tribe will have one veteran players who will be mentoring the new castaways throughout the season. Are you ready to see who the new castaways are?

Here is the Lairo Tribe. You have Missy Byrd, Ronnie Bardah, Tom Laidlaw, Aaron Meredith, and Vince Moua in the back row and Dean Kowalski, Karishma Patel, Elizabeth Beisel, Chelsea Walker, and Elaine Stott in the front row.

Here is the Vokai Tribe. You have Noura Salman, Dan Spilo, Jamal Shipman, Jason Linden, and Tommy Sheehan in the back row and Jack Nichting, Molly Byman, Lauren Beck, Kellee Kim, and Janet Carbin in the front row.

There are some castaways that are worth mentioning this season. We have Tom Laidlaw who is the first Canadian born castaway and is also a former NHL defenseman. He began his hockey career with the New York Rangers in 1980 and ended it as part of the Los Angeles Kings in 1990. We also have former Olympic swimmer, Elizabeth Beisel, and professional poker player, Ronnie Bardah.

This season will run a little differently than past seasons. This season we will have former winners, Boston Rob and Sandra Diaz-Twine, acting as mentors throughout the season. Jeff Probst mentioned that bringing them back as mentors was a way for them to get players like them back on the show who have said they wouldn’t compete again knowing they wouldn’t have a chance at winning. They will not be competing for the million-dollar prize at the end, but they will also be surviving on a separate part of the island. Keep in mind, they will have better supplies to make their shelters with and better food supplies.

You can click on any of the names in this article to get their full player biography from the CBS website. I’m curious to see how this season plays out and even more curious to see what aspects of the game Boston Rob and Sandra will be mentoring the castaways in. Make sure you come back next Wednesday, September 25th starting at 8/7c for the premiere of Survivor: Island of the Idols! See you all then!
