Empire to End After Next Season- Jussie Smollett Dunzo!

‘Empire’ cast, crew, and fans were surely excited when the FOX series was renewed for a sixth season. But, all good things must come to an end and today, it was announced the show would end after the 2019-2020 season. Additionally, Jussie Smollett will not be returning, presumably due to the drama revolving around his legal troubles. When asked about Smollett’s future on ‘Empire,’ Charlie Collier had this to say: “There’s an option to have Jussie in the series but we have no plans for that.” But, Collier has promised the best ending for devoted fans possible with 20 amazing episodes. Along with these two bombs, the show will be moving back to its original time slot on Tuesday nights at 9pm but this is not the best thing as it will pin it smack dab against NBC’s smash hit ‘This Is Us.’ Smollett is lucky enough to have the support of key co-stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson but it is probably a liability FOX just cannot take on in the midst of an ongoing investigation with too many uncertainties. I do not truly believe this is the end for ‘Empire’ as many shows have found a second life on a streaming network (looking at you, Lucifer). Only time will tell. What arr your thoughts? Let us know!
