We started tonight’s episode of Survivor with Keith’s decision after being voted off the island by his fellow castaways. He decided to go to the Edge of Extinction and met with Reem! He is excited to see her, but she tells her that it’s been rough out there. She hasn’t eaten in days and tells us that she wanted to raise the mast to get off the island, but now she feels like she needs to stay for Keith. The next morning, they find bottles with something inside. It’s a map of the island they are on and they start looking around the island. On their map there are steps and when they get to the top of the steps, they find some rice, but it’s not a lot. There is a note there that tells them that they are going to have to work harder for the things they need while there.
It is time for the Reward Challenge for tonight. They will be playing for either comfort or chickens. The winning tribe will be able to pick which reward they want. The tribes will have to assemble a wheelbarrow, untie a knot to release sandbags (twice), race through a maze with their wheelbarrow full of sandbags (twice) and then assemble a slingshot. They will then use the slingshot to launch the sandbags at targets and whichever tribe knocks down all four targets will win reward. The tribes were neck in neck throughout the race to the slingshot, but Manu takes a big lead when they start launching the sandbags. In the end, Manu wins their first challenge of the season and choose to take the chickens back to camp!
During the challenge, Wendy dropped one something on her ankle and it isn’t looking too good. While she is sitting there, the others are talking about killing the chickens and eating them. She isn’t happy about them wanting to kill the chicken and she tells Rick that she wants to release the chickens. Meanwhile, on Kama, Joe and Aubry are kind of nervous about being on the chopping block if their tribe should lose the Immunity Challenge. Aubry then goes to look for an idol and she finds one! She breaks down in tears because this is one of her “Survivor” bucket list items.
Meanwhile, Wendy is still losing it over them wanting to kill one of the chickens, but Wardog is reminding her that she isn’t a vegetarian and it’s really hypocritical. Wardog and a few of the others are talking about who they would target if they lose another Immunity Challenge and it seems like Wendy is going to be in trouble for a couple reasons. She is freaking out on everyone about wanting to kill and eat one of the chickens and she is hurt.
It is time for the Immunity Challenge! Three castaways will be in a boat, four more will be tethered to the boat. They will have to swim, pulling the boat behind them, to a tower. The three in the boat will have to climb the tower, jump off and grab a key. They will then have to get back into the boat, get to a platform and use the keys to unlock a chest. There are pieces inside the chest that go together to make a ship’s wheel. The first team to assemble and turn their wheel to raise their flag will win. Kama ends up winning immunity again, sending Manu back to Tribal Council.
When Manu gets back to camp, Wendy knows that she is in trouble of being eliminated. She tells us that if she is going to be eliminated tonight, they aren’t cooking the chicken. Right before they go to kill the chicken and cook it, they can’t seem to find the flint to be able to build the fire to cook it. Wendy stole the flint and walked over. A couple of the guys go to talk to Wendy and she denies taking it and they switch the conversation to who they are going to target tonight. They think that Kelley should be the one to go tonight and David starts to talk to a few of the others about it. Chris knows that Wardog isn’t going to go for this plan, but thinks that he can convince Wardog to vote for Kelley. Problem is, Wardog isn’t with Chris as much as he thinks he is. Wardog goes back and tells Kelley about Chris wanting to target her. It’s looking that Kelley and Chris are now in trouble and it looks like Rick and David are the deciding votes.
It is time for Tribal Council! The votes are tallied and here they are:
Four votes is enough to send Chris out of the game….for now! He is then faced with his decision to either take the boat to the Edge of Extinction or take the boat home. He chooses to go to the Edge of Extinction!
