Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are Officially Married!
In the early hours of Saturday morning many of us woke up to watch the royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry take place on every major television network. Here are some of the details of this Royal Affair!
In November 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement, here we are six months later watching them get married. In the absence of Markle’s father, Prince Charles walked Ms. Markle down the aisle. During their vows, Markle didn’t promise to “obey” her groom, much like Kate Middleton did in her vows.
There were many celebrities at the royal wedding including George and Amal Clooney, Priyanka Chopra, David and Victoria Beckham, James Corden, Idris Elba, Oprah Winfrey, Elton John and Kate’s sister, Pippa and her husband, James Matthews. Also, despite earlier rumors, Queen Elizabeth II was in attendance. It was also announced that the main cast members from the USA Network show, Suits were also in attendance to watch as their friend and former castmate became part of the royal family.
Before the royal wedding took place, we learned that the happy couples new royal titles would be Duke and Dutchess of Sussex. There are five titles for the man and woman that the Queen can choose from and Duke and Duchess are the highest of them all. The others include Marquess, Earl, Viscount, and Baron for the man and Marchioness, Countess, Viscountess, and Baroness. Prince Harry was also given the titles Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel. If you recall, Prince William was also given two additional titles Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus when he and Kate Middleton married in 2011.
