We started off tonight’s episode of Lethal Weapon season 2 off with a man on a plane announcing that he is robbing the passengers on the plane. The flight attendant asks him what is wrong with him and tells him that there will be cops waiting when they land and that’s when he tells everyone to buckle their seat belts and tries to jump out of the plane. Meanwhile, one of the passengers gets up and tries to fight with the man and finds himself shot and pulled out of the plane with him.

Riggs is selling some of his stuff at the pawn shop and we get a flashback look at him with his father the first time he took him hunting. Back to present time, Riana and Murtaugh are sitting at the table and he is trying to have breakfast with her, but she has her face in her phone. She gets a text and decides to leave for school a little early. Murtaugh asks her if they are still on for dinner, but she tells him that she is going out for dinner.

Murtaugh and Riggs respond to a private hanger where the robbed plane has landed and they get a breakdown of the items stolen and are told that the man who did the robbery hasn’t been seen on any other flights. They do find a print and get a name on the man, his name is Dan and they get a lead on a hotel room he is staying at.

Later we see Riggs talking to Cahill about him selling all of his stuff and he gives her a half-assed answer. Things get a little tense when she starts asking him about his parents and his childhood. When they get to the hotel room that Dan is staying in, they find that he has taken off. He must have seen them coming in when he went down for ice. He left his phone behind though and it’s ringing. The caller ID reads Nora and it’s a picture of the flight attendant on the plane he robbed. She calls him “dad” and tells him she is going to end up fired when they put two and two together.

They bring the daughter in and she tells them she didn’t say that she knew him because before today she hadn’t seen him in years. He has been a lifetime criminal and she fell for his “I’m making up for lost time” crap again. Riggs tells her that she can help them bring her father in, but Murtaugh doesn’t think she would be okay with it, but she agrees.

She brings them to see one of the guys her father used to fence his stolen goods too. During this back and forth, the man tells Nora that he really is trying to make things right before it’s too late. She tells him it was too late when he put her in the middle of a murder investigation. He tells her that her father is dying. She doesn’t seem too concerned because he has told her this lie many times before. She tells them he is fleeing to Mexico, but he is stopping somewhere else first.

She brings them to this place where her father used to meet with men and sell his stolen goods. When he shows up to the meet, there are two men with automatic weapons and they open fire on Riggs, Murtaugh and Dan. In the end, the two men are dead and Dan is brought in for questioning.

When they get back to the station, Dan is refusing to talk until he sees Nora. He also claims that he didn’t kill the man in the plane. He tells them that he didn’t bring a loaded weapon onto the plane, his gun wasn’t loaded. The other guy pulled a loaded weapon and what he did was self defense. He then tells them he isn’t saying anything else until he can talk to Nora. She refuses to talk to him.

Meanwhile, Riana comes in, but it isn’t voluntary. She has been arrested for protesting at the zoo with a couple of other people. She refuses to tell him who she was with so he has Bailey read Riana her rights. Murtaugh goes to question Riana, which doesn’t go well at all. Meanwhile Riggs is working with Dan and Nora to try and find out who wants Dan dead. Looks like it had to do with the guy who died in the robbery, Eli Woodcocks, his briefcase is what they are looking for.

Dan has what looks like a heart attack and while in the hospital, Nora is told that her father has an infection that has causes damage to his heart. He only had about six months to live. Back at the station, Riggs is getting an earful for selling a rifle at a pawn shop that he didn’t claim he had and it was used in a liquor store robbery. Then it turns back to the case where he tells them that they found out that there are $2million in uncut diamonds in this briefcase that Dan dumped.

They searched the pond he said it was in, but come up empty and Murtaugh and Riggs go to the hospital to find out where the briefcase really is. Dan picked the lock of the handcuffs and escaped and Nora was kidnapped by Eli’s brother outside the hospital. This is getting complicated.

Murtaugh and Riggs go back to Dan’s friend who Nora had brought them to. This time it’s to try and figure out where to find Dan and they get a phone number. They tell him that the guys who want the briefcase have Nora and they have set up a drop. Dan shows up and when the guys for the briefcase show up, Riggs takes a risky sniper shot to create a distraction.

When he shoots the middle of the case, the diamonds go all over the place. Avery and Santos are there, the bullet got really close to Santos’ arm, through the briefcase. Avery is able to take down the guy Dan was handing the diamonds off to, Nora jumped out of the van and Murtaugh took the two guys guarding her down. It was pretty impressive.

We end the episode off with Dan bring brought back to the hospital and being double handcuffed to the bed. Nora give him a hug and he slips an uncut diamond in her pocket and she is pissed. Santos is having a drink after her near gunshot wound and she is talking to Avery about how she would transfer him to any post he wants, but he tells her he wants to stay where he is.

Murtaugh tells Riana that her mother doesn’t come back until tomorrow and asks her to go to dinner or maybe stay in and watch a movie. She tells him that she can’t, she’s going out, but when her friends get to her house, she invites them to stay and order in. Riggs finds his old rifle, the one his dad gave him before their first hunting trip, at his desk. It’s still has the evidence tag on it from the evidence locker after the case was closed.

We then see the flashback of Riggs and his dad hunting again and his father and him are talking about Riggs’ mother, who was sick. Back in present day, Cahill is asking Riggs what he is going to do with it now. He tells her that he was just trying to get rid of somethings, simplify things. Cahill tells him to tell her about the gun. He tells her that this was the rifle his daddy taught him to shoot with and the gun that shot his daddy.
