Video of Garth Brooks Serenading Cancer Patient Resurfaces

Recently while scrolling through Facebook, I found a feel good story about Garth Brooks and felt I needed to share it.

Back in 2014, Teresa Shaw and her daughter traveled from their home in Iowa to Minneapolis to see Garth Brooks in concert. Shaw, who was battling breast cancer at the time, was holding a sign that read, “Chemo this morning. Garth tonight. Enjoy the dance.”

During Brooks’ performance of his song “The Dance,” Teresa held her sign high and when Brooks saw the sign, he walked over and sat at the edge of the stage and sang to her. While he was singing, he held her hand for a moment and then unstrapped his guitar. He then handed the guitar to Shaw and called her over for a hug, whispered something into her ear and gave her a kiss.

He then stands up and holds her sign up high and gives a motivation speech and tells Shaw that she has his strength and the strength of everyone in the audience and tells her she is going to kick cancer’s ass! It is such an emotional video and I feel like it’s a video that needs to be seen by everyone. So here it is, watch to the end!
